F.A.Q.

What if I can’t make it every week?
The goal is for everyone to do their best to arrange their schedules so they can make as many Thursday rounds as possible.  However, we are realistic too.  We know there might be a couple Thursdays that you can’t play.  In that case you can have an alternate play for you.  This could be anyone who meets the requirements to play (male, at least 16 years old) and is willing to play by league rules.  If you unable to find an alternate and do not show up for your round you will receive your “expected score” with a penalty of 5 strokes.

Do I have to be there at 5:00pm exactly?
Yes.  This is a tough one.  We understand that it may be hard to get out of work on time, however, it is important that everyone show up to the course with plenty of time to arrive on their tee box and not hold up the rest of the group.  It is also important because there will be other patrons of the golf course playing in front and behind of us and we’ll need to make sure we don’t slow play up for those who are paying regular price.

What if I’m Late?
You will still be able to post a score with no penalty if you arrive to the course in time to make the 3rd hole that you are scheduled to play.  This is because you will be most likely be able to make up the first 2 holes that you missed.  If you arrive later than the 3rd hole you can join your teammate, but a 3 stroke penalty will be added to your score.

Where is Mayfair Country Club located?
Mayfair is located at 3536 N. Country Club Rd in Sanford (32771)

Is there a dress-code at Mayfair?
Yes, but it’s pretty reasonable.  You need to wear a collared shirt or a mock golf shirt of some kind.  Denim is tolerated though not preferred.  Shorts are acceptable but no cut-offs please.

I’m not that good, can I still play?
Sure!  The goal of this league is to have fun, get to know new people, and have some sportsman-like competition as well.  No matter your skill level you’ll be able to compete because you will always be scoring against your own average.  So, the better you do, the better your score.

How does the scoring work?
There are 2 competitions taking place simultaneously during each round.  A) Individual competition and B) a Team competition.  Both are based on your NET score (adjusted after handicap).  Individual competition is based on accumulating points per round and Team competition is a matter of winning, losing, or halving each of the 9 holes versus the other team.
Scores, results, and standings will be kept on-line for the duration of the league.

I don’t have a teammate, will you assign one to me?
Yes.  You can either choose a teammate (if you know someone joining the league) or we can assign one to you on March 14th

Is this just for LifePoint or can other people come?

This league is open to all men over the age of 16.  Invite anyone that you would like – the more the better.

Can I bring my spouse or girlfriend to the banquet?
